Chapman’s Fall Seminar

Cleanrooms and Controlled Environments - Trends, Tools, and Technologies

Join us Tuesday September 10th 4:00 PM @  Chapman’s HQ – 84 Winchester Street Newton MA

There is more to designing a cleanroom than four walls, paneled ceilings, and specialty flooring. The Science & Technology sector encompasses a wide variety of businesses, including life-saving medical research, pharmaceuticals, batteries and electronics, consumable goods, and national defense. But are all their  ‘cleanroom’ needs alike?

This presentation will look at the drivers, trends, and tools that influence various aspects of controlled environment design and construction and how they vary greatly amongst different business types.

From this presentation you will learn:

  • The various types of controlled environments in Science & Technology businesses;
  • The commonalities and differences in the design and construction of these facilities;
  • Trends in codes, guidelines, and design;
  • Common design tools used in the development of controlled environments; and
  • Steps which can be taken to make these energy-intensive facilities sustainable.

Aided by case studies exploring different types of controlled environments, Bradley Hodges, PE and Jeffrey Talka, AIA of SMRT Architects and Engineers will help you understand what goes into the development of these varied facilities.
