Chapman partnered with Boston architecture firm Dyer Brown to create a submission for the Design Museum Boston’s Street Seats. Street Seats is an international design competition to design benches for the Fort Point Channel on Boston’s waterfront. Our bench, LuminUS is made of stainless steel, glass, and concrete with a PV powered LED lighting system designed to light up the night. Luminus was selected as one of 20 semi-finalists out of 174 submissions from design firms in 23 countries! At the April 27th opening ceremony LuminUS took home 2nd place.
