On June 15th, over 65 Chapman employees headed to Rock Harbor in Orleans for our annual team-building fishing trip, the Bill Rich Memorial Challenge (BRMC). A fleet of twelve boats set sail late that morning, all with high hopes of having their names engraved on the official BRMC trophy. Even though it was a cloudy day, the rain held off so we could enjoy the brisk day on the water.
Team Triton, consisting of Captain Brandt Wild, Jack Hall, Randy Davenport, John Davis, and Stetson Lacombe impressed us all with five keepers totaling 188.5 inches and claiming the title of champions! Randy Davenport reeled in the day’s largest catch, a 42” Bass!
Fishing was followed by a BBQ where everyone enjoyed savory steak tips, burgers, and sausages grilled to perfection by our incredible chef, Bob D’Amico! His mac & cheese even made a special appearance this year. As the day continued, many folks worked off their lunch by playing yard games; we even got to witness the “old-timers vs. youngins” intense game of volleyball where the old-timers took the trophy!
We’re grateful to everyone who could participate in this year’s Challenge. Your generous donations allowed us to raise $2,900 for the Department of Children and Families. Thank you for sharing this special day with us, and helping us to remember our dear friend and former Chapman employee Bill Rich!
